Bye Bye Binky!

Halle has had a binky since her days in the hospital. Last night was her first night without it. I put her to bed with one and an hour later she woke up crying. When I got to her, she had ripped the top of her binky off. It was so cute, she said "fix it mommy." She had done the same thing with another one the day before. I did not have a replacement so she had to say goodbye to the binky.

I wasn't going to get rid of it but I figure she ruined it, she knew she ruined it and so we went for it. She only whined for about a half hour and went to sleep. Although, today during her nap time, she never went to sleep. I listened to her on the monitor and she just played for 2.5 hours. But i figure i can deal with her playing and not sleeping as long as i can get a few hours of work in. Tonight she didn't even cry . . . WHAT??? Yay, that was awesome. it has been going a lot better than i thought it would. But, i think the fact that she ruined it, instead of me telling her she couldn't have it, has really helped. She is such a good girl i am the luckiest mom ever!

Oh good for you! You are a brave mommy! I need to do it. Parker is so hooked to his, but for now, it's hiding his poor little teeth, so I guess I am hooked too :)

That's so great! I remember when Brynn finally got rid of hers, happiest day ever, and her teeth look soooo much better just a few months later! Yay Halle!!

Congrats on the pregnancy/baby boy AND CONGRATS on getting rid of that darn binkie!!! We NEED to just bite the bullet and do that. Maybe after we get back from Seattle. I HONESTLY have probably dropped an easy $150 on the soothie... every other time we go to the grocery store.. it adds up!

I saw you the other day on my way to church (and you were walking to church)... you and halle looked so bright/cute and I totally caught the cutest moment of you stealing like three kisses on her cheek as I drove by. It made me happy. For some reason I had my camera with me and I seriously contemplated turning around and taking some pics of the two of you. Sorry I didn't:) And sorry for this novel. We should hang out. 801-706-4562
