Miller

He is just over 1 month old and is such a pleasant baby. He rarely fusses unless he is hungry, tired, or has poop, which is just what he is supposed to do. Here are some pictures of the last few weeks.
This is Miller and Charlotte just a week old and 1 day apart.

Male Pattern Baldness. I am so sad, Miller just woke up one morning with a bald spot on the left side of his head. the Next day he had one to match on the other side. I don't know if you can tell the difference in these two pictures, but i was really sad when it happened. i really hope it comes back in his cute red color.

Crazy Halle eating ice-cream with the scoop.

Bath Time. Miller loves taking a bath. Russ always gives the baths. I just don't feel comfortable giving tiny newborns baths with my little hands. So i make Russ do it. But miller just loves his baths and stares at Russ and smiles the whole time.

Sleeping. Why are babies so cute when they sleep? And yes that is a pink blanket snuggled around him. It is the best blanket. So soft and it is stretchy so i can wrap him up tight.

Smiling. This baby really does smile, it isn't just gas. He has been smiling since he was about 1 week old. He looks into your eyes and smiles, it is so cute. and sometimes he will give you a little gurgle or coo.

The Family. sorry i look like such a dork, but this is us. the four of us.

Aren't my loves cute!

Pictures!

Saturday, Russ and I ventured down to American Fork to get Miller's newborn pictures taken with Peekaboophotos. We also had Halle's pictures taken. Halle was not cooperating at all in the beginning, but Russ told her he would throw out all of her baby dolls if she wasn't a good girl.(Hey, it worked!) He also told her he would take her to get a new baby if she was good.  After that she was so good. I seriously can't wait to see the pictures. Miller, who I thought would be asleep the whole time was awake and kind of difficult, but Kate knows what she is doing and pulled out the blow dryer and he was out like a light. She sent me a couple images via email. These are they! I can't wait to see the rest!

2 Weeks!

I went to the doc this morning for Miller's 2 week check up. He is doing great
Halle
Miller
.
He weighs 9lbs 3oz. = 65%
height 21in.= 64
and head circ. 36cm.= 40%
His weight surprised me the most. The doctor said they want them to be at least back to their birth weight (Miller wieghed 8lbs) by 2 weeks, and Miller has passed that by a pound and then some. I guess it shouldn't surprise me too much, he is definitely a boy and wants to eat, a lot! It makes a mom feel good though when you get a good report card from the doc.

2 Kids

Here are a couple more pictures of my new baby and my cutest Halle girl! It has been a pretty good transition into having two kids. With the lack of sleep i have gotten, which is mostly because of sore breasts rather than a crying baby, seriously Miller is amazing! i have to wake him up to feed him . . . what a dream. Anyway things have been good. Halle is still adjusting and has emotional outbreaks every now and then, but so do i, so what can you do. I have loved having Russ around and my Mom and Dad. It has made me way more sane and actually so happy and thrilled to have this new addition to our family.
Right after my baby came out.

This picture shows his "redish" hair the best.

Miller's Story

My labor with Miller was so much better and faster than it was the first time around.

12/30/09: 3:30am Woke up with pretty painful contraction. New it was more than a braxton hicks and would be having the baby soon.

4:45 Checked into the hospital, dilated to a 3+

5:30 Got an epidural (the anesthesiologist was amazing, talked me through everything, which the first time i had one, the doc didn't say a word)

Slowly dilated to a 9+ with very little pain, but enough feeling that i would be able to push when i needed to.

9:30am being dilated to a 9+ the doc said i had a little lip of cervix that wasn't dilating and so i was rolling onto my other side to see if that would help and as i rolled the doc said it dilated completely and i was ready to push.

I did a test push with my next contraction and the baby moved down and started to crown, so they told me to stop so they could get the room ready.

Once the room was ready i began to push and could feel the pressure of him down there, it was really cool, with Halle i couldn't feel anything. So I pushed got his head out , pushed again and got  the rest of him out.It only took me about 5 pushes, where as with Halle, i pushed for 2.5 hours. He came at 9:50am, 8 lbs, 20 inches long.

He has been an absolute dream. He eats, sleeps and poops. Hasn't made much noise other than when i take him off to burp he gets mad and wants to keep eating.

I am madly in love with his redish hair, so cute! It isn't orange red, but it is the prettiest auburn color.

The Lateset

So I went to the doctors today, and am a "tight 3" dilated and still about 60% effaced. My doc told me if I haven't had the baby by the 3rd he will induce me. So if i don't have the baby sometime this week I will be having him on the 3rd. It was kind of crazy to schedule when my baby will be here, but exciting too. If anyone has any advice on having a newborn with a 2 year old around, I am all ears!

Merry Christmas!!!

Just wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas! I still have a baby inside me! hopefully it won't be too much longer that I can say that, but I will let you know when he is ready to come out! It is kind of cool to be expecting during this time of year. If I don't let the pain and uncomfortableness get in the way of my thinking  I can think about Mary and what she might have been thinking knowing she was going to bring a baby into the world. Her baby was going to change the world, mine will most likely just change mine, but it is still cool to think about.

The Wizard of Oz & Thanksgiving

Halle watched "The Wizard of Oz" with Russ a couple of weeks ago, and has been really into it ever since. I found her the other day watching it in my laundry basket. She somehow got into the laundry basket and was using it as her chair. Pretty cute, so I decided to share.

For Thanksgiving we went to Russ's familys get together. Halle loved playing with her second cousin Jaxon. They were so funny cuddling on the couch and kissing! it was cute, but makes me a little nervous about the future. I guess if she is anything like me i don't have to worry about her kissing boys for a while! ;)

Happy Birthday Russ!

Russ had his Birthday on Dec. 5th, which was Saturday. We had a family party that afternoon, I went christmas shopping and then that night he and I got to go to dinner and a movie. He is the best husband ever and we went and saw New Moon on his birthday.
Thanks Russ, you are the best! I love you!

"Wow that's cool Grandma"

A few weeks ago, we had our first snow. When Halle woke up and came upstairs she went straight to the window, looked out at the falling snow for a second and then said, "wow that's cool Grandma." My mom was sitting on the couch reading the newspaper, we both thought it was the cutest thing.
So, I put on her coat and gloves and found some boots, which happened to be a few sizes to big and we headed out. She loved walking in the snow, except her boots were so big they came off a few times, but she had a blast anyway. Here are some pics from the day.

Halloween

For Halloween, we went to our ward Party and then Trick-Or-Treating with Grammy & Grandpa (my mom and dad) Lisa and her kids, and Lindsey. Our costumes were pretty good I have to admit. Russ was a Ghostbuster, Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), I was the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, and Halle was Slimer. Everyone who hadn't seen the movie thought i was in the navy and Russ was in the army. oh well, i thought mine was clever because i didn't need to stuff my costume i am already "puffed."

Look at my cute little Slimer! She didn't like her green hair at first, but she loved it by the time we left and kept showing everyone her "silly" hair.

Grammy, Halle, Naya, Lisa, Laina & Kai (with his transformers mask on)
Halle & Laina were so cute trick-or-treating, they wanted to hold hands between houses. We had to carry them a lot because it was taking forever, but man are they adorable!
You know you are proud of me for wearing white sweat pants and a sweatshirt while pregnant. Let me tell you I looked good!
Side note for any of you Napolean Dynamite Fans. Jerad & Jerusha Hess, writers and Director of Napolean Dynamite, Nacho Libre and now Gentlemen Bronco's live in our ward. For Halloween their family dressed up as Napolean Dynamite characters. This is a picture of Jerusha dressed as Napolean, in the actual suite from the movie. She was hilarious, she was even talking like Napolean.
